A magnificent whimsical figural ring depicting a hand offering an oval cut blue sapphire. The hand has a present-day feel, with elegant fingers.
The setting measures 3/8 of an inch or about 9 mm north-south.
The stone is a genuine blue sapphire, faceted, oval cut with an estimated carat weight of 0.5 carats based on the approximate measurements of 4mm x 5mm x 3.2mm. The table (flat top) of the stone reaches 7mm or 5/16 of an inch above the hand.
The ring is size 6.5 US and can be sized by your jeweler.
It is marked A585, the European mark for 14k gold. It is likely of European origin. The metal was carefully tested, as well as the stone. There is a chance the sapphire was lab created.
The ring weighs approximately 2.1 grams. It is in remarkable condition.
